What’s on the Menu, Tonight?

Let’s get a few culinary items straight first up, shall we. Calamari is fried squid and does not refer to octopus meat (my mistake initially). I could digress here and say that the best calamari I have ever eaten was at a humble fish’n’chip shop in the town of Mittagong, Australia – but I am digressing. So what is octopus meat called then? In English-speaking countries it’s octopus whether it’s alive and kicking or predicting football match results, or the deceased variety that ends up on your plate. But in Japan they use octopus to make a snack called takoyaki, while in Greece fried octopus is xtapodi – and just seeing pictures of it makes my mouth water!! 😀

However this pose was considerably edited by me using my Animare HUD – I changed the position of both my right arm and my right leg. And having loaded the pose into a pose stand, I then tilted the pose stand so that it was then at ninety degrees to the water surface.

July is a big month for events in Second Life, what with Hair Fair, Candy Fair, Wizarding Faire and Project Limited as well as the usual gamut of shopathons all happening at the same time. Staring at the Starfish

Well at least I think I am but as I have this big, colourful mask ensconced on my head who knows what I am really looking at?

The Project Limited event kinda crept up on me this year and I didn’t hotfoot it there until it had been open for a day or so. One of the items that I particularly wanted to get were these amazing masks from VALE KOER and fortunately I was lucky enough to get two of them to add to my wardrobe. One of them was the “BEEZY” mask which I have already blogged, while the other was the FLORAL mask – seen here in this blog post.

The Octopus and Me

Tegan Serin from floorplan, was one of the major creative forces behind this year’s Summerfest event, which sadly has just finished in Second Life. Amongst the various items that she created for the event were an octopus wall hanging and an octopus throw rug – which I have used in this picture, albeit as a backdrop and not as something that you would otherwise walk all over! 😀
